They built the Central City Parkway, brought in two large apartment complexes and paid for the restoration of the city's downtown. 'The city was on such a decline before gaming came in. It's home to the Historic Central City Opera (the fifth oldest professional company in the country), and the casinos have taken over the space once occupied by jewelry stores, banks, hat shops. Century Casino & Hotel Central City Address: 102 Main St, Central City, CO 80427 The Century Casino & Hotel is the largest casino in Central City aside from the Grand Z Casino Hotel. It was opened on the site of the former Tollgate Casino in 2006.

Free public parking is available off street in the Big T Lot across from City Hall, 141 Nevada Street, and at the Century Parking Garage, 111 Lawrence Street.
The inter-city shuttle between Central City and Black Hawk has been suspended until further notice.
Typically, Central City and Black Hawk provides a free joint shuttle between the two cities. Central City stops include the following:
- Stop 11 - Lawrence Street - near the Johnny Z's Casino
- Stop 12 - Main Street Central City - near the Easy Streeet Casino, Dostal Alley Casino & Brewery, Century Casino & Hotel, Bonanza Casino and many other non-gaming attractions and points of interest
- Stop 13 - Gregory Street - near the Grand Z Casino & Hotel

Weekend service: a bus is estimated to arrive every 15 minutes - hours 12 p.m. - 2:30 a.m. Friday - Sunday.
Beginning June 17, 2020 we are re-opening! Visit our friendly staff at the Visitors Center for more information about Central City! The Visitors Center is the best place to stop for information about all casinos, historic sites, restaurants, walking tours, cemeteries and anything else fun and interesting in the area.
